Directions to Our Practice
If you’ve never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could take:
- Take 2nd Ave west, then turn left onto 5th St. Turn right onto Camanche Ave. Right after the Burger King, at the intersection with Washington Blvd, turn left. Continue on Washington Blvd heading south all the way into Camanche. The road will bend westward. When you pass the intersection with 6th Ave, turn right into our parking lot. We’re at 814 7th Ave.
- If Camanche Ave is very busy or if you live towards the northwest of Clinton, it might be easier to go another way. Get onto Bluff Blvd heading southwest, then turn right to continue on Bluff Blvd where it splits with Manufacturing Dr. Turn left onto 19th St. Turn right onto Harrison Dr. Once you pass the warehouses and the truck service center, turn right onto Lincoln Way. Turn left onto Mississippi River Trail, which will become Washington Blvd. From there, continue as in the above directions. We can’t wait to welcome you to our practice family!

Clinton, Iowa, the county seat of Clinton County, holds a rich history on the Mississippi River. Incorporated on January 26, 1857, the city was named after New York’s sixth governor, DeWitt Clinton. Earlier, the town of Lyons was established in 1837, later merging with Clinton in 1895. Clinton itself was initially platted as the Town of New York in 1836. A major turning point came in 1855 when the Iowa Land Company officially named it Clinton, following the announcement of a railroad bridge across the Mississippi. The railroad line to Cedar Rapids was completed by 1859.
From the 1850s to 1900, Clinton flourished as a lumber industry hub, earning the title “Lumber Capital of the World”. This prosperity meant Clinton reportedly had more millionaires per capita than any other U.S. city in the 1880s and 1890s. With northern forests depleted by 1900, the city transitioned, using its transportation advantages to attract manufacturing and heavy industry. Impressive Victorian mansions from that era remain. Recent history includes significant riverfront improvements from “Iowa Great Places” designations in 2005 and 2020, and ongoing business expansions creating jobs and new local developments.
